Air travel and wider aviation contributes in the region of 1-2% of global emissions and it is an industry looking to decarbonize. Smaller aircraft with light duty cycles have the option of pure battery powered electrification, but large aircraft with lots of passengers and very long routes will need higher energy density solutions. This conference played host to a wide spectrum of players in the aviation industry, from Airbus who is looking to hydrogen solutions, to Ionblox with advanced lithium-ion battery technologies aimed at pure electric aircrafts.
