Hi! I have a question. I used to have good, thick and dense hair. But after chemical treatment when I was ill with Leukosis, my hair became very thin and sparse. Could you give me any advise to return my hair? Will it help if I shave my hair bald? I hope to receive your answer. Thank you.
Hi, I wouldn't recommend shaving off your hair as this will not help your hair to grow back in a better condition. What I do suggest is taking care of your hair with good hair care products and implementing a healthy diet full of lots of good food and vegetables which will nourish your hair. Kind regards, THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, I am a 50 yr old overweight woman with a round fat face. What type of hairstyle would help make my face/body look a little thinner? Or is there such a cut? LOL.
Hi, if you would like to minimize your build, don't choose a style like full high hair, as this will make you look even larger. Also, be particularly careful when choosing wavy or curly styles as they give the illusion of "BIG." Most short style cuts are fabulous for your frame, along with most straight smooth looks. It's really just a case of looking at things logically. I recommend adding your face shape and body build to our hairstyle consultation for further ideas. Kind regards, THS Hair Consultant.
I'm a guy looking to get a different hairstyle. I currently have medium length brown hair, and a round face. I'm looking to get a medium length hairstyle that compliments my face shape. Mostly looking for pictures of the different hairstyles, I'm having a hard time finding some myself. Also open for advice. Looking for something low maintenance.
Hi, I recommend adding your details and preferences to our hairstyle consultation. It will provide you with lots of hairstyle images that will suit medium length hair and a round face shape. Kind regards, THS Hair Consultant.
I have wavy texture medium length hair. My face shape is oblong. The hairdresser cut my hair with layers at the top and I want to have a new hairstyle. Could you tell me some tips on how to style my hair? And I would like to know will straight cut bangs suit me?
Hi, this article will give you tips on finding the right wavy hairstyle for your face shape. In regards to bangs, straight cut ones will suit an oblong face shape. If you haven't already, upload your photo to the Virtual Hairstyler and try on some hairstyles with bangs to see if you like the look. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi! I have very thin hair and it's about to my shoulders. I want something completely different and I can't decide between cutting it to below my ears or letting it grow out and getting hair extensions to make it thicker. I also wonder about color. My natural hair color is a dirty blonde, but I was thinking about dyeing it darker and getting some blonde and red highlights. What should I do?
Hi. I think you might find some great new hairstyles through our hairstyle consultation. Also, if you're thinking of changing your hair color to dark check out the tips and advice in "Dark Hair: Six Reasons it'll Knock Their Socks Off". It's a great article and you should find it really helpful. Kind regards, THS Hair Consultant.
If I have fine hair, will it look OK long? Right now I have a bob, but I really want to grow my hair out to be long and pretty! I have an oval shaped face, fine hair, blueish grey eyes, fair skin, and naturally dark brown hair. In your opinion, what would look the best for me?
Hi, with an oval face shape you should be able to wear any hairstyle so something long would definitely look OK. Fine hair is also a good texture to have when it come to long hairstyles as it'll make it easier to manage the length. I recommend using our hair consultation to find styles that match your characteristics. It can be found in the makeover menu at the top of this page. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
I have darkish brown hair with natural light highlights and I am wanting to add more blonde highlights and auburn chunks in my hair. Will it look right and is it safe to do this at home?
Hi, the best advice I can give when it comes to highlights is to seek the help of a professional. Adding highlights to hair takes great skill, especially when it comes to achieving a certain color. Your hairstylist should be able to advise if blonde and auburn highlights will suit your current brown hair color, and add them to your hair so that you get the best result. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
I want a Cool Scene Haircut, but I have short hair what should I do?
Hi, cool scene haircuts can come in all different lengths so having short hair shouldn't make a difference. We have a great alternative range that should help give you some ideas. Check it out here: Emo Hairstyles. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Can you help me pick a new hairstyle?
Of course we can! The easiest way to find a style at TheHairStyler.com is to use our "Find My Perfect Hairstyle" consultation and "Hairstyle Search" feature so that you can view as many of our hairstyles as possible in a quick and easy manner. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, I have curly hair about medium length and have a diamond face shape. I don't like having a lot of width on the sides of my face and would like to blow dry and use a curling iron or flat iron every other day. Would that damage my hair? Thank you. Paige
Hi Paige. Using heat protection products before and after styling your hair with a blow-dryer or curling iron should help reduce damage to your hair. However you should ask your hairstylist to take a look at your hair and offer you some specific advice as the condition of your hair will also affect the rate of damage caused by heat appliances. Kind regards, THS Hair Consultant.
My hair is a medium texture, I had bleached my hair, I waited three weeks to perm my hair and I tested a small section of my hair with the perm, nothing happened so I permed my hair all over and when I started to comb it, it started to just break off especially at the top of my head and my edges, but when I oil it, it's okay. Now a family member said that I should get a short haircut style, but I'm worried that if I get it short, will it still break off?
Hi, unfortunately there are no miracles for undoing the damage that has already been done to your hair. The best advice I can give is that you look after your hair with plenty of intensive treatments and a shampoo and conditioner made for chemically treated hair. If you want to cut your hair shorter, you can, but until the damaged hair grows out, your hair will unfortunately continue to break. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi there! I have long, fine, straight hair and not a lot of it, and every time I go to the hairdresser they insist on layering it so that it has more volume and bounce! The only trouble is that my hair is naturally sleek and straight so the bounce goes right out of my hair the minute I walk out of the salon. What I would like to know is this: would it be better to cut my hair straight across without layering it? Or do layers serve a greater purpose other than to add volume? I've resigned myself to the fact that my hair will never have volume, so I'd like to go for the straight, sleek look. Thank you!
Hi, having layers does not mean your hair will sit perfectly with shape and volume when you wake up in the morning. With your hair being fine and sleek, you have to be willing to work with your hair and spend time styling to have it sit the way you want it to. Applying volumizing products and blow-drying the hair will help achieve body. Using hot rollers or velcro rollers will also create the bounce and body you seek. So if you have the time to dress you locks, keep your layers and have fun with them. If not, then a blunt cut with no layers will give you a straight, sleek look. I hope I have helped. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, I'm a 25 year old girl with brown skin. I wish to get a brand new hair color. Can you suggest something? I have curly deep brown hair, with a few greys. My face is rectangular with a triangular jaw line. I would appreciate your help.
Hi, I recommend trying our hair consultation to find the right hair color for your complexion. The hair consultation can be found in the makeover menu at the top of the page. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, two questions. First one, my hair is ridiculously frizzy and dry. I have tried loads of different products, styles and cuts but nothing seems to help. Is there anything I can do? Second question, I have dark blond really light brown colored hair and have never dyed it before. I really want to dye it bright rich orange like the girl from Paramore in their video Ignorance. I was wondering what the best thing would be to do when dying it and if I would need to bleach it and how much damage it would do in the long run. Thank you.
Hi, did you know that shampooing the hair too much can cause the hair to frizz? Try washing your hair once a week for a while to allow the natural oils coat the hair. Also, be sure to use a leave-in conditioner often to help keep the hair tangle-free and moisturized. In regards to having your hair colored, it is best you make an appointment with a hairstylist so they can assess your hair and give you the best options to achieve your desired color. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hello, I have naturally curly/wavy, frizzy, puffy hair. I don't use any hair products except for herbal essences, head and shoulders, and pantene shampoo and conditioner. What hair products do you recommend, that don't need any other work, for my type of hair?
Hi, the best advice I can give about looking after frizzy hair is that you will need a very good shampoo and conditioner for dry/frizzy treated hair (the brands you've mentioned should have products specifically designed to treat frizzy locks), a heavy treatment that can be applied to your hair once a week and a moisturizing creme that can be applied every day. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi. I have an oval shaped face, medium texture hair, long and curly. I had the Brazilian keratin put in my hair over a year ago. I would like to have bangs but don't know where or how to begin looking. I want medium, maybe short hair. I am also looking for a maintenance free haircut because I will be overseas next year due to being in the military. Any help would be good. I am also thinking of putting in the Brazilian keratin again. Thank you.
Hi Desiri, I would suggest trying our hair consultation (http://www.thehairstyler.com/hair-consultations) to find styles based on your personal attributes (face shape, hair length, hair type etc) and to find styles that have the criteria that you have listed (medium or short length, bangs etc). Once you've found some styles that you like, make an appointment with your hairdresser so they can assess your hair on a personal level and give you advice about which options will benefit you and your hair. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, my natural hair color is dark blonde hair but I have been dying it a medium brown and have some golden tones in it. I was wondering how I could lighten it back to a light brown or dark blonde without bleach. Thanks.
Hi, unfortunately if you want to lighten hair your then do need to use some form of bleach. I recommend visiting a hairdresser in person for the best advice on how to achieve the color that you want as they can look at the current state of your hair color and condition, and advise accordingly. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
I naturally have dirty blonde hair and for the past five years my hair has been platinum blonde. I am tired of the whole blonde thing and want to go darker but I am unsure of what color to do. I was thinking maybe a red color? I have fair skin, hazel eyes, and my wrist veins are blue if that tells you anything. Thank you.
Hi, it sounds like you have a cool skin tone which means that any hair color with a cool undertone will suit you. If you're interested in trying a red hair color then give copper blondes a try. For more color ideas, try adding your attributes to our hair consultation, which can be found in the makeover menu at the top of this page. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, I have long hair (past the shoulders) and I am thinking of going for a short, collar bone length angled bob but I have a round/heart face. Should I go with it?
Hi, as long as your short style has layers through the back to give it height and lift, and at the crown for balance, then there's no reason why you can't wear an angled bob with your face shape. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, my natural hair color is a very light brown. I have blue-gray eyes and fair skin. Recently I have been thinking about dying my hair either a deeper brunette or a lighter blonde, however I am not sure about what color to choose. If you have any suggestions as to what shades I should choose, let me know. Thank you.
Hi, your fair skin indicates a cool skin tone, while naturally light brown hair is a cool/warm hair color. This means that hair colors that are cool or neutral will suit you best. For ideas in regards to color, I recommend adding your details to our hairstyle consultation. After that, make an appointment with your hairdresser so that they can see your skin tone in person and match it perfectly with the hair color that you want. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, I'm a male who has been looking for the right hair style/cut for a long time. I've just been growing my hair out in frustration, so I have long hair down to the back of my neck. My hair is very wavy/curly so I've been using a hair straightener to at least keep it in shape. The shape of my face is kinda round and a little oval I think, and my face is a little chubby. I wouldn't mind any hair cut or style as long as it suits me and my face shape. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You!
Hi, to find a hairstyle that will suit your face shape take a look at our hairstyle consultation. It will suggest a range of hairstyles which you can try on using your photo to see if they suit. Generally, if your face is round you should aim for hairstyles that add a little length to the appearance of your face and reduce width. Kind regards, THS Hair Consultant.
Hello, I have black hair but I want to add highlights. I have dark brown skin and a round face. I am not sure which highlights will fit me. Can you help me?
Hi, as dark brown skin can be either cool or warm, I recommend using the skin complexion information in our article "Choosing Your Skin Tone and Enhancing Your Hair Color" to accurately pick your skin tone. Then you can use our hairstyle consultation to receive a list of compatible hair colors. From there, you should be able to find a highlight color that will compliment your black hair, and skin tone. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, I'm an African American young man but I have other races within my bloodline and where I'm from I have hair that everyone says is "GOOD HAIR". My hair is very curly and thick but is also thin, so my question is are there any products out there that I could use to maintain my hair styles without damaging it? Normally I wear my hair flat ironed because I really don't know how to wear curly hair styles. So if you can please give any type of helpful advice on how to style this jungle, I'd love it.
Hi, as a hairstylist it is hard for me to correctly assess a problem without being able to view the texture, tone, elasticity and condition of a persons hair and other factors up close, so I would suggest seeing a hair stylist in person as they will be able to personally advise you on the best products for your hair and the best course of action in this case. Thank you. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Um. What color would look good on me? I'm more into the alternative style, like emo and scene. My hair is naturally light brown, but I bleached it.
Hi, if you'd like to know what hair color will be a good match for you then I recommend trying our hairstyle consultation. It will allow you to put in your personal attributes (such as hair color and skin tone) and get a list of hair colors that will suit. I also recommend adding your photo to the Virtual Hairstyler and trying on some of our emo hairstyles. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hello! I have long golden/honey blonde hair that has never been colored or dyed. I am interested in dying it red, but have heard it often turns out pink on blondes. I want it to be a natural looking red but I am afraid once I do dye it I won't like it. Is there a way to try it (temporary dyes?) that wont affect my hair if I hate it? Whats the best suggestion of hair dye and a color that won't look bad. Thank you!
Hi, if you're thinking of dying your hair for the first time then I would recommend visiting a professional hairstylist, even if it's just to have a consultation. A professional will be about to take a look at your natural color and advise you on the types of reds that will suit, the best way to get a natural looking red hair color, and which color process will work best for you. Seeing a professional should also eliminate the risk of you ending up with a color that you hate. Good luck! Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
I live in Miami, surrounded by constant humidity. I have black medium length wavy thick hair. HORRIBLE! I have a round face, and a small neck. What haircut style fits me best to help me with my surroundings as well?
Hi, this article "Round Face Shape - Hairstyles That Suit You" will give you ideas on what is best for your face shape. I would also suggest you visit a salon so they can assess your hair and give you the best options in regards to styles and hair products that are best suited for your hair type and a humid environment. Kind regards, THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, my skin is light warm, I actually have a brown hair color and I wonder if I can use a Golden Dark Blond? My face has big cheekbones, a broad forehead, and a square jaw. What kind of haircut do you recommend?
Hi, our hair consultation, which can be found in the makeover menu at the top of any page, will be able to let you know exactly what hair colors will suit your complexion and what kind of hairstyles will suit your face shape and other personal attributes (such as your hair length, texture and density) so I recommend giving it a try! Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Should I get an asymmetrical haircut? What would be the impact on my current grooming schedule?
Hi, without knowing your hair type, texture, length and face shape it's hard to advise if an asymmetrical haircut will suit you. As for grooming, this again depends on the length of your asymmetrical haircut and how you wish to have it styled. I recommend having a chat with a hairstylist in person to find out if an asymmetrical haircut is the right style for you, and what the maintenance level would be. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
I have naturally mousy blonde hair, really pale skin and very rosy cheeks and green eyes. I've been dying my hair dark brown for nearly 2 years and was thinking of dying it a slightly mahogany colour but I have no idea what will go with my skin tone/eye colour/red cheeks, what would you advise?
Hi, I'd recommended trying our hair consultation. It'll allow you to choose your skin tone, eye color and natural/current hair color and then see what hair colors are compatible with those features. I'd also suggest adding your photo to our Virtual Hairstyler (if you haven't already done so) and then trying the recommended colors on using our virtual hair color chart. It's a great risk free way to see how you might look with a different hair color! Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hello! I'm going to get a new haircut and have problems choosing one that would actually suit my face. I think my face shape is heart, I have big forehead and small chin. Trouble is, I also have really big nose (really, it's prominent). Right now my hair is long, natural color (mocha brown), to me it seems thin. I have trouble styling - it just falls limp or slips away. I have a side part, but not too deep. Everyone tells me different things about haircuts and hairstyles that make nose seem smaller: some say big bangs, some say absolutely no bangs... I can't keep my hair off my face, I have too big a forehead for that. Is there any haircut/hairstyle that would make my nose look smaller and give some life to my flat hair?
Hi, our hairstyle consultation will offer advice on styles for flattering a larger nose as well as advice or what will suit your face shape and the thickness of your hair. You can find the link at the top of this page. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
I just had my hair colored and really hate the color. My hair is naturally a medium/dark blonde. I have had highlights for years and they usually brighten me up and look shiny and pretty. I just had them done by a new colorist and my hair is now a dull beige/ash - like I look at it and think beige, not blonde. Never had this shade before and it totally looks old ladyish. It ages me and just looks meh. What should I do to brighten it up? Can I do highlights or a glaze? How soon can I go to a new colorist to adjust the color? I'd go tomorrow if I could.
Hi, I would recommend getting highlights again over the top or using a toner to tone the ash/beige color. If you're not happy with the color that you recived then chances are your hair colorist will be more than happy to fix it for you. If you're not comfortable seeing that colorist again then visit another colorist for a better assessment. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, I'm having a tough time finding a style that looks good on myself. I have dark brown long hair with thin side swept bangs. I have an oval shape face with high cheek bones. My face isn't too skinny it is more on the chunkier side. What would be a good haircut for me? Thank you so much.
Hi, the following article has some great advice about what will suit an oval face shape: "Oval Face Shape - Hairstyles That Suit You". If you're still stuck for ideas then our hairstyle consultation will also give you all the styles in our library based on your own personal attributes, such as your current hair condition, type and texture and your face shape and complexion. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi! I am very confused about my hairstyle. I want a new look but don't want long hairstyles. My hair is very thick, hard and black in color. My body is skinny and height is 5' 8". Right now I am in a corporate field and have my own company. Please suggest me the right hairstyle. Thanks.
Hi, if you're looking for a new hairstyle and don't know where to start then I suggest using our hair consultation. It can be found in the makeover menu at the top of this page and will allow you to put in your face shape, hair type etc and choose the length and hair density of the styles you'd like to see. That way, if you don't want long hairstyles then you can look for short or medium length hairstyles easily. Good luck! Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, my hair is a really dark brown and is about 65-68cm long and straight. I want a new hairstyle that can be finished within 10 minutes that requires no curling iron or whatever equipment. I need to tie it into a ponytail everyday. I want it to be slightly wavy like Selena Gomez's sometimes. Can you please help me?
Hi, if you have naturally straight hair and want waves sometimes then unfortunately having to use a curling iron may be your only option as you may not be able to add waves to your hair any other way. Braids can work to add waves without the use of curling irons, but only if your hair is able to hold onto the waves created. For adding waves with braids, see this article: "Braided Hair: 6 Easy Steps to Celebrity Worthy Waves". If ponytails are what you wear often and you're after something different then you might also like to take a look at the ponytail ideas in this article: "Ponytail Ideas for Any Hair Texture and Occasion". For styles that only take a few minutes, keep an eye out for the handy "Styling Time" info with each of our hairstyles. It'll let you know which hairstyles can be styled in 10 minutes. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hey! I'm 17, I have long and wavy hair and I would love to cut it short (a little above the shoulders) but since my hair is so thin I don't know if it would look good. Should I cut it?
Hi, if you're not sure about how you'd look with a shorter haircut then I recommend adding your photo (if you haven't already) to our Virtual Hairstyler and trying on some of the shorter styles in our wavy category. As for knowing if a shorter cut will work with your hair type, I'd advise seeing a hairstylist in person so that they can look at the texture and the thickness of your hair in person and offer the right advice. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
I have very damaged hair! It's waist-length and I haven't had a haircut in almost 4yrs. I'm just a busy mom. I do straighten it about 2-3 times a month, and think this may have caused the damage. Without straightening it, my hair is naturally course & frizzy. I want to lose some length, add layers, and maybe some highlights. My color is med-dark brown w/some grays. I really want movement and some volume. Maybe a long bang that blends in with the rest of hair? I have round face, I'm short and in my mid 30s. Fair complexion. I can't afford anything for upkeep. I'm too poor and too busy. Just want something that I can touch up every couple of months.
Hi, sounds like you already have a good idea of what you'd like so I would recommend seeing a hair stylist in person and letting them know that you'd like some layers, maybe bangs and highlights and see what they advise based on the current condition of your hair. If you'd like more ideas to take with you, I recommend trying our hair consultation. You can add personal attributes such as your complexion, face shape, hair length and texture etc and be given hairstyles from our library that match your criteria. Thank you. Serah Schuster, THS Hair Consultant.
I recently tried a bob and liked it. It's chin length and only slightly layered. I have an oval face with a high forehead and naturally wavy, thick-ish hair. I don't want to have to straighten it every day - I would prefer to scrunch it and bring out its natural texture. Right now, my hair looks heavy and lacks movement if it's not straightened. I want to change things for my next haircut. I still want a bob but I can't decide which bob variation to go with. What would you suggest for someone who wants a trendy and modern bob that works with wavy hair, yet can still be straightened occasionally? Thanks.
Hi, your oval face shape will suit any bob cut, whether it has layers or not, so I would suggest you sit down with your hairstylist at your next salon visit for a thorough consultation to see which cut will work best for you. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi! My mom has some white hair and she wants to color them with dark brown. How should she color it?
Hi, there are lots of hair coloring products on the market designed to cover grays that can give you good results. If in doubt, have your Mom visit a hairstylist who can personally take a look at the level of gray hairs and advise the best course of action. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi , I recently went through a style change, opting for short hair. After a week or so I'm noticing a certain change in my hair and I am suffering from dandruff problems. Even after thorough shampooing and conditioning, the dandruff problem is not ceasing and I've even started suffering from hairfall. Please help.
Hi, I strongly suggest you make an appointment to see a trichologist to examine your scalp thoroughly to assess the hair fall and dandruff problems and their causes. This way they will be able to give you an accurate solution. I hope I have helped. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, I have long, black, curly hair. I would like to makeover my hair. I have a heart shaped face. My skin color is brown. I would like to have straight hair but I'm not sure it would suit my image. Any help?
Hi, if you're not sure where to start with a new look then I would recommend using our hair consultation. It will allow you to choose all of your personal attributes (such as your face shape, skin color, hair color, hair length, hair texture etc) and then see styles that will suit those attributes. You can then try those recommended styles on your photo to see if it will suit you. The hair consultation can be found in the makeover menu at the top of this page. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi! So my hair is a naturally ashy brownish blond color, I have been using box dye for about a year because of budget cuts. I want an exciting change, my hair is currently a dark brown, but as the color fades my hair takes to red very well, so it fades to an almost coppery chestnut color. I have a diamond shape face, and my complexion... I have freckles, but I am not fair skinned, more of yellow undertones than pink and I have light eyes that are blue green. I have always been tempted to do a red color (such as Kate Walsh's red), but have always been sketchy. What would the best hair color be for my skin type and what would be a fun way to spice it up from the usual brown so that I have a new kick to start the new year?! Thank you! Kelli
Hi Kelli, it sounds like you have a cool complexion (olive, slightly beige with yellow undertones) so any hair color that has a cool overtone will suit you. Examples of cool hair colors for you are ash browns and blondes, copper reds, light blondes (think platinum and strawberry blonde) or anything from a dark to a light violet if you're after something different. If you really want to know what will suit you then I recommended visiting a professional colorist who can confirm your skin tone in person and discuss with you the types of colors that will suit you. Good luck! Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi! I face a serious problem for my hair. My hair becomes thin day by day. Every day I face hair fall problems. I also suffer dandruff. I use Pantene shine shampoo. My hair is short & straight. Please tell me what can I do for my hair. Please solve my problem.
Hi Sayma, I strongly suggest you make an appointment to see a trichologist to examine your scalp thoroughly to assess the hair fall and dandruff problems and their causes. This way they will be able to give you an accurate solution. I hope I have helped. Kind regards, THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, I need some hair help. In the pic is my current length and color. Can you recommend a style and color that would look good w/my face shape and skin tone? http://my.thehairstyler.com/larddropu
Hi, if you're looking for styles to match your face shape and skin tone then try our hairstyle consultation. It takes all of those features (and more) into account and recommends styles for you. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi. I am a 44 yo female with long, dark brown, wavy to curly hair. Although my hair is fine, I have a lot of it! I have never had bangs in my entire life and recently bought some clip in bangs to see what I would look like. I really like the look (I looked much younger!), but the clip-ins are a bit too heavy for my face. I am thinking of having my stylist cut long side swept bangs, but due to a strong cowlick in the front, I'm concerned they won't lay correctly. I live in a dry climate and have great success with my Sedu flatiron when I want to go sleek, so I think I can style the bangs how I want them, but I'm a bit nervous. Question 1: should I give them a try? Question 2: if yes, how should I have them cut? Question 3: how long would they take to grow out if I didn't like them? Thanks much! Alex
Hi Alex, in regards to having bangs cut, you will need to understand that with a strong cowlick in the front, you will definitely have problems trying to get it sitting right. Also remember that the shorter you go, the less weight there is so the more problems you will have with it. If you do decide to have them cut then you also need to realize that if you want to grow them back out, you might be waiting a while as hair grows approximately half an inch every month. I would strongly suggest you make an appointment with a hairstylist so they can assess your hair personally and give you a more accurate opinion. I hope I have helped. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hello. I suffer from really bad dandruff, it's only at the front of my head and if I itch my head it peels off and becomes noticeable. I use head and shoulders anti dandruff shampoo and conditioner but that doesn't seem to work, and I know I'm washing it out. HELP what else can I try to do to get it away?! Thank you.
Hi Bethan, you should see a professional hairstylist or a trichologist to have your scalp examined. This way, they will be able to recommend the right products for you to use to solve your problem. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
My hair is very coarse and dry naturally and puffs up as it dries. Even if air dried. Unless I spend hours oiling and straightening it, it is very spiky, puffy and unruly. It is naturally wavy. Is there any low maintenance hairstyle that I can manage in about 15 minutes that will cut down on the puffiness? What products should I use for the dryness? My face is square and I have a very strong square jawline. I have a long commute to work and don't have much time to work on my hair in the mornings. I would love a suggestions for a cut and products that would give me something I can manage in a short amount of time. Plus, I am all thumbs when it comes to hairstyling!
Hi, the right products to use to tame your hair all depend on the hairstyle that you're wearing so I would recommend giving our hair consultation a try to find the right style for you, and then taking a look at the hair products listed in the how to style steps that we provide with our hairstyles. Good luck. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
My natural hair color is dark ash brown, I've been wanting to dye my hair blonde. I currently have heavy light blonde highlilghts. What would be a good blonde to go for? I have a medium skintone.
Hi, without more information about your skin tone it would be hard for me to suggest some blonde hair colors so I recommend that you visit our hair consultation and use the information listed to determine if your skin tone is cool or warm. From there, you will be given a list of hair colors that will suit your skin tone. Going blonde can really change your whole look and is something most of us have done or want to do! For more info and tips about going blonde, I also recommend checking out this article: Blonde Hair Coloring Tips: Going Going... Blonde Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
Hi, my natural color hair is dark blonde/light brown. I always get blonde foils, not bleach blonde, but I haven't had it done since November. My hair has grown out about an inch but the roots aren't that bad looking because my natural hair isn't really dark. Anyway, I want to get an at home coloring kit of blonde. Would this mess my hair up in any way? Would my hair turn green or fall out?
Hi, when it comes to color changes, I wouldn't recommend doing it at home as anything could go wrong. At home color kits usually don't turn out the same as the color on the box and your hair could turn green or it could break off. The best thing to do is go into a salon to have it done. That way you'll end up with the exact color that you want, with less risk to your hair. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
I had heavy copper low lights added 3 weeks ago to my blonde highlighted hair. It has faded to the point that it looks like I've never had anything done. I'm thinking of doing an all over color in the copper and then a few blonde highlights, as the darker color is more complimentary to my skin tone and eyes. My questions is twofold; (1) can I do this without seriously damaging my hair and (2) is there anything I can do to prevent it from fading so quickly?
Hi, as a hairstylist it is hard for me to correctly assess a problem without being able to view the texture, tone, elasticity and condition of a persons hair and other factors up close, so I would suggest seeing a hair stylist in person as they will be able to personally advise you on the best way to achieve the color you want with as little damage as possible, and how to address hair fade in regards to the specific condition of your hair. Hello there, my natural color is brown and for many years I was dying it blonde. From September I dyed it brown again for two months, then I switched to red for three months, and back to brown for another 3 months. I wanted to lighten up the color by using lightening powder and the result was frustrating. The roots naturally went to blonde, from ear to ends was red blonde, and from my eyes to ear level vivid red? I did the same thing when from brunette I wanted to switch to blonde and it worked fine. I didn't know what to do as I was working the next day so I dyed it brown again. What can I do to make it one color? Should I use the powder and then use it again for a second round in the eye to ear level to lighten up the red?
Hi, if I were you I would stop coloring now and go a see a professional hair colorist, pronto! The damage that has been done to your hair by switching hair colors so often in the last few months is going to make it impossible for you to get a good, even result at home. Go and see a professional hair colorist who will be able to take a look at the current condition and color of your hair and advise you on the best course of action for achieving the hair color that you want.
